Kitkat began as a conversation—not just with the client, but with the idea of what a swing could be in a home that’s shared, fluid, and constantly shifting. The brief was simple but layered: no fixed armrests, yet the desire for comfort, support, and presence when needed. That contradiction became the foundation. The solution emerged through modular thinking, inspired by Lego systems—intuitive, playful, and deeply functional.
The seat is made of ten identical bolsters, aligned to form a uniform base. Each bolster is magnetic and independent, allowing the user to rearrange them freely. Remove a couple from the center to create a soft cavity to hold a tray, cups, or a book. Stack a bolster on the side for an instant armrest, or shift one to the end and lounge with a bit of support. This swing doesn’t impose a fixed experience—it adapts to who you are and what you need in that moment.
The design process was about distilling complexity into simplicity. Every detail—from the rhythm of the stitched bolster pattern to the tactile interaction of magnets and stacked elements—was considered to invite touch, movement, and choice. It’s a raw, intelligent object that doesn’t shout for attention, but quietly changes form to fit its user.
Kitkat is not just a swing—it’s a system of comfort, a modular language that understands life isn’t static. It’s poetic in its practicality, playful in its soul, and above all, human in its logic.
